Thoughts On The New Moon Cast

I’ve been mulling this over for a few days now. Here’s where I am so far.

Michael Sheen as Aro – Ok, yeah. Why not. I really hope he isn’t getting paid what amounts to about $7.3M for it because that means he’s either seriously overpaid or Aro is in more than one or two scenes. Or it could be what he’s getting paid to appear in any future Twilight films, too. Still too much, if you ask me, but it would make me feel better. Or maybe we see him in the form of Alice’s visions, as well as actual scenes. Still seems like too much. Anyway, Michael Sheen is great in everything he does (I have not seen Rise of the Lycans, mind you). Really great.  I hope everyone doing scenes with him is up to the task. You can expect that he’ll steal the scene, but for Aro to really be as creepy as he needs to be the others around him will need to react accordingly.

Dakota Fanning as Jane – I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I think she’ll be great. She’ll do a lot for the movie, and I hope the movie does a lot for her. We’ll get a little dose of Bad Dakota to ease us into her adult roles.

Daniel Cudmore as Felix – Bella described him as, “very big, tall and thick.” She compared him to Emmett. Anyone who could play Colossus in the Marvel universe definitely fits the bill. I’m sure he’ll be appropriately menacing.

Charlie Bewley as Demetri – I have no information on Charlie, but then we hardly have any info on Demetri either. And Charlie is awfully nice to look at so Thumbs Up, for now.

Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus – He looks familiar to me but looking at IMDB I don’t see anything of his I would have seen except 21 Jump Street. So, I don’t have much to go on here either. I’m sure he’ll be fine at standing there and looking bored, if somewhat scary.

Noot Seear as Heidi- She is certainly gorgeous and statuesque enough.

Graham Greene as Harry Clearwater – Yea! I love him in everything he does. If he couldn’t play Billy Black (he’s who I pictured) I’m glad we’ll see him as Harry. I know he’ll bring new depth to Harry. Now if we could just get Tantoo Cardinal for Sue Clearwater!

Cameron Bright as Alec – Truly chilling. Did you see this kid in Birth? It was weeks before I got the creepiness off me. This might be the best casting choice from the new cast list.

Random Rob

Thanks, simple265, for putting this interview up on YouTube.  I had fun watching it watching Hayley Williams and Rob Pattinson interview each other.

Thanks, doseca1, for putting this Rob interview on YouTube. This might be the best interview I’ve seen with Rob talking about playing Edward. Rob, I love that you want the New Moon movie to be so true to the book that you hope you aren’t in the bulk of the movie, but I disagree about the ‘vignettes’. I think that showing a tortured Edward here and there could work, if written the right way. For example, cutting back and forth between Edward going to the Volturi and Alice and Bella racing to Italy could add some tension that might otherwise be difficult to portray with just two girls rushing to catch a flight and then sitting there for nine hours.

Thanks, B96 Showbiz Shelly, for posting this interview of Rob in Chicago while on the Twilight tour on YouTube. It’s always fun to watch him squirm while talking about the SQUEEing Fangirls.

Ok, so this isn’t a Rob interview, it’s a Dakota interview, but she does talk about Rob. And how cute is she?!? Thanks, xlovesit91x, for posting this on YouTube.

Volturi Casting

Relax, this isn’t anything official. These are just my picks. I know, I know, I should have made a video for YouTube like everyone else does. I’ll be honest. I don’t know how to made one of those. Gimme a break. I’m old. I have looked at YouTube vids though, and I’ve found a whole lot of Ben Barnes out there. Twilighters seem to unanimously want him to be in New Moon in some Voluturi capacity, mostly as Demetri. I like him as Aro, but what do I know? I know I’d like to hear him speak a whole lot more than Demetri does. I know that!

Since Summit decided on young Dakota Fanning for Jane, I’m going to assume they are going to try to keep as many vampires as possible within the reader demographic even those whose ages aren’t really assigned in the books. They seem intent on rushing these films to screen so I don’t suppose aging vampires will be a problem. “Bring on the eye candy!” seems to be what they are going for. With that in mind, here are my picks. Eh, screw it. I’ll post my “old vampire” picks with the “eye candy”. Of course any of these vampires could be unknowns, but what fun would casting be then?

Picks and pics after the jump.

Dakota Fanning is set to star in the Twilight sequel New Moon, EW has confirmed. The actress will play Jane, a member of Italy’s evil Volturi, in the anticipated movie, which opens in November. She had been in talks to appear in the film ever since she was offered the role in January. “It would be really cool to do it,” the 15-year-old Fanning told EW at the January premiere of her most recent release, Push, which was also produced by Twilight‘s studio, Summit Entertainment. “I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part.” Shooting on the movie starts this month in Vancouver. People.com first reported the news today.

Dear Miss Dakota,

You can tell me, just between us girls, who will play Alec?

♥Christa

PS I loved you in Push.

Hello Twilighters!

Welcome to my blog. This is my very first post. Here I will regale you with all things Twilight.

Here are a few quick starters, as it’s late, bordering on early, and I should be in bed:

  • The rumor that Vanessa Hudgens will be playing Leah Clearwater is still circulating. It’s not true.
  • Dakota Fanning is still not confirmed for the part of the Volturi’s Jane, but according to at least one source it still looks likely.
  • There was a New Moon casting call for Quileute boys and girls in Phoenix this weekend.
  • There is also a casting call going on in Victoria, BC this weekend.
  • Could Solomon Trimble be out as Sam Uley? I hope not and so does Team Solomon!

G’night!

Rabbit
