New Moon on Monday

I still think MTV missed one heck of an opportunity there. Last year they had Twilight Tuesday. Who else but MTV could pull off ‘New Moon on Monday’? (Thanks Tonicfan!)

Almost Kiss?

Almost Kiss?

Does anyone know, do they really kiss? Will this be the next Best Kiss? Would an almost-kiss be considered?

Anyway, thanks to MTV for posting this video, story and photo (he’s only 17…he’s only 17…he’s only 17…). Viewers, be sure to stick around for the pop-up video-style commentary.

Ah, Duran Duran, how I’ve missed you. Let’s have some more New Moon-appropriate musical genius, shall we ? (thanks Gallard0o!)

The New Moon Trailer

I went to see The Proposal with OMB and a bunch of friends. I’m so glad the girls were with me! None of us knew the New Moon trailer was playing before the movie! Talk about involuntary SQUEE! All we needed to see was the water and the rocks. There was a collective gasp at shirtless Jacob the likes of which I haven’t heard since we first saw Cedric Diggory jump out of that tree in Goblet of Fire. The theater was packed, and just about everyone seemed excited. Even one of the guys with us said, “Whoa! What happened to him?” I kept reminding the girls, “He’s only 17. He’s only 17…” I mean clearly I didn’t need reminding, being firmly on Team Edward. Don’t worry. I let everyone know that if they didn’t calm down that Chris Hansen would be showing up. That being said, can I just say how hilarious I think it is that you hear Laurent say, “mouthwatering,” and then the next thing you see is shirtless Jacob. What a clever subliminal message. I’m just sayin’!

The preview looked even better on the big screen, especially the fur-sploding wolf. I do hope that Edward doesn’t stop at, “This is the last time you will ever see me,” and actually does say, “It will be as if I never existed,” like he’s supposed to.  But all in all New Moon looks like it may be good, definitely better than Twilight.

We were all ready to go after the preview, but were pleasantly surprised that for the price of $9.50 they were actually going to let us see a movie, too. The Proposal was a lot of fun. We expected it to be good, but it was a lot funnier than any of us expected. It’s one of those movies that when I’m flipping through the channels I know I will have to stop and watch.

The Trailer

Caroolee7 was the first one to come up on YouTube, so I grabbed this there.

It gives me hope.

New Moon Poster

spunkransomreveals

Reasons I hesitate to believe:

  • Has anyone else seen that picture of Robward before? It looks familiar to me.
  • It looks like a lot of the wonderful fanmades we’ve seen in recent months with the coloring and mistiness.

Reasons I want to believe:

  • Summit might have actually listened to the fans and taken a page out of the fanmade book. It gives me hope.
  • Instead of a crescent moon in the background, it looks like an eclipse. That’s something I haven’t seen in fanmades.
  • While the pose is weird, I like that Jacob is getting between Bella and Edward.
  • Edward is eclipsing Jacob, much like the moon is eclipsing the sun above them.

2009 MTV Movie Awards

I said during the midnight show of Twilight that Edward and Bella’s kiss would be MTV’s Best Kiss. It’s been nominated. I don’t know how I missed voting, but apparently voting is now closed. I guess we’ll find out together how it turns out.

Twilight is also up for:

New Moon Casting Video

This is the first updated casting video for New Moon that I’ve found. Enjoy, I’m sure there will be more to follow.

Good on ya, Kristen

Previously I wrote that Kristen Stewart is being treated like The Other Woman. I think she’s reached the point in that particular drama when she’s thought about leaving the gossipy small town behind to lick her wounds, but has decided to face her fears and protect her dignity by staying put. If her recent interviews are any indication, she seems to have made a choice to stick with the Twilight Saga films. If this is true she makes this decision knowing what she’s getting herself into this time. I think we owe her improved attitude in her interviews to her new perspective. I say good for her! She actually looks happy.

AccessHollywood interview about Taylor and Dakota.

MTV interview about Adventureland, but the clip talks about Bella’s cliff dive.

And her interview with Jimmy Kimmel, where she gets to talk about New Moon and The Cake Eaters.

Nikki and Rachelle

I came across this interview in a round about way, so I’m not entirely sure who to thank. I think I should thank TwilightMoms and, of course, Access Hollywood. I love what they have to say about Taylor Lautner.

Annoying. I can’t embed the vid, so here is the link.

According to HollywoodChicago.com:

Canadian Actor Bronson Pelletier Cast in ‘Twilight’ Sequel ‘The Twilight Saga’s New Moon’

CHICAGO – An actor from the Canadian series “Renegadepress” and Discovery Kids’ “Dinosapien,” Bronson Pelletier has been cast in the highly anticipated “Twilight” sequel “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon,” which is based on the book “New Moon” by Stephenie Meyer.

Pelletier joins the already announced Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene for the sequel. “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” will be directed by Chris Weitz.

Vanessa Hudgens, Dakota Fanning, AnnaLynne McCord and Lucy Hale have been rumored for other roles. An open casting call in Canada recently brought in hundreds of hopeful “Twilight” fans looking for a role in their favorite franchise.

Carrier Talent Management, which is Bronson Pelletier’s management, broke the news on its own Web site with a posting that read: “Congratulations to Bronson who scores a lead role in the highly anticipated ‘Twilight’ feature film sequel ‘New Moon’. It’s rumored he will be co-starring with Dakota Fanning.”

As Summit Entertainment has yet to officially confirm the casting news, there’s no saying what role Bronson Pelletier will play.

“Twilight,” which stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner from director Catherine Hardwicke, has grossed $189 million in the U.S. and $363 million total worldwide. This quickly put “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” into production and has spawned many casting rumors. Other books in the Stephenie Meyer series include “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”.
