Zen Disclaimer: You are responsible for your own destiny. If you don’t do your research, such as reading all the way to the bottom of this page for updates, and you miss your shot, don’t blame me. Please don’t leave me messages on my blog asking me for more information or favors. I have no power over casting, despite a strong desire to fly to Chris Weitz’s side and just take over. I’m just doing this to try to help out. I’ll post what I can, when I can, but the rest is up to you. This is all I got.

I thought I’d try to make this info a little easier to find on my page, since y’all keep coming back  to find audition info for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Here’s what I said in my last post.

Thanks to Star who asked a question below that prompted me to look up some auditions etiquette for you all. Click here and here.

Eclipse & Breaking Dawn Auditions: Final Post?

Maybe this will be my final post on Twilight Saga auditions. We shall see. I continue to get questions on how to go about auditioning. I would like to reiterate that I have nothing to do with the film industry other than being an avid movie fan, and have nothing to do with Twilight casting other than being a humble blogger of all things Twilight. As of this moment I have no ‘in’ with Stephenie Meyer, Summit Entertainment, Chris Weitz, David Slade, gaffers, best boys, kraft food service, or anyone else in the know. It would be nice to have some connection in the future though. :)

That being said, I’ve had so many questions that I have done some research. Allow me to impart upon you my wisdom.

Check the following links regularly:

1. Eclipse Auditions

2. Breaking Dawn Auditions

According to this press release Acting 411 is the place to go for casting and audition info. So, remember, it’s very important to keep checking those links above. Bookmark this page if you need to, to remember. Certainly you may link to this page directly on your blog.

If you look at other movies listed on Acting 411, you will see that some, such as Remember Me (starring Robert Pattinson) have a PRINCIPLE ACTOR CASTING area and a EXTRAS CASTING area. These are the areas you want to keep watching if you are interested in auditioning for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Today both areas say TBA for both movies. Before too long they will be filled in and you will know what to do.

BTW, careful readers noticed they are still casting the female lead for Remember Me. Go get him, girls! Don’t forget who sent you on the audition!

02Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting411 has posted even more info:

Leah Clearwater: Female, 19 years of age. Seth’s big sister, and the only female member of La Push wolf pack: “She is tall and slender with beautiful skin and short cropped black hair. She would be considered gorgeous if not for the perpetual scowl she carries due to a broken heart and anger issues.”

Seth Clearwater: Male, 15-16 years of age is a “tall, gangly-limbed boy with a huge, happy grin. Seth idolizes Jacob.” Black hair, lean muscle type, think swimmer body type.

Riley: Male 19-21. Good looking, blond, clean-cut, muscular college guy who falls victim to Victoria. He’s in his early to mid 20s and Riley was a newborn that was created by Victoria to act as the leader of her recently formed newborn army. He accompanies Victoria in her attempt to murder Bella Swan.

08Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting411 has posted more characters to audition for:

Maria: Female mid-20’s, Hispanic, petite figure, brunette, dark eyes with a soft musical voice. Maria looks for humans that she could turn into vampires to create a “newborn army”.

Bree: 14-17, beautiful, 5’1″ – 5’3″, short dark hair, fair skin. Has a high pitched shrill scream. She is one of the newborn army who ravaged Seattle, killing many with her fellows under the guise of a serial killer.

Royce King II: Male, late 20’s, out-spoken, comes from wealthy family. He was a human who lived during the time of the Great Depression. He was engaged to Rosalie Hale for a short period of time.

There was a Main Principal Actor Casting section, apparently, that I missed. I’m sorry about that, but I suppose it’s just as well. It seems that people weren’t following directions. Please note, any information found here will only be here as long as I’m allowed to keep it up. If I find Main Principal Actor Casting information posted again, I’ll post it here. If I’m asked to take it down, you have only yourselves to blame. Just follow the rules, people. We’re all excited about Eclipse and Breaking Dawn being made, but let’s follow the rules so all the best talent can have a chance and we get the best movie possible. MmmKay?

15Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting411 has posted new info!

NOTE: You are NOT required to register with ANY pay-subscription websites that are advertising open casting calls or online casting calls for Eclipse, such as ActorCast. ActorCast collects financial data, such as an account or credit card number, telephone and billing address when using their site. They also require you to sign up for a 90-day trial account to submit for Eclipse, after which point you be [sic] charged if you do not cancel your subscription.

They go on to say:

The ONLY CASTING DIRECTORS casting the roles of Seth Clearwater and Leah Clearwater are listed below. And you can mail or email Rene’ Haynes you audition directly to her, instead of signing up with any pay subscription website. The email address is listed below. Native American Roles are often very difficult to cast…Therefore it is understandable that Summit Entertainment has agree to have ActorCast assist in getting audition videos to Rene Haynes.

Rehearsals are tentatively slated to begin August, 2009 with actual filming starting in late September, 2009. The release date for Eclipse has been announced as Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

And then:

There will also be additional members of the La Push wolf pack and Quileute tribe cast in Eclipse. Like New Moon, they are looking for Native Americans or First Nations actors ONLY to fill the Native American roles – no actors who “look like they could be” Native American or First Nations people.

Principle Actor Casting for Native American / First Nations Actors only (USA):

19Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting 411 has given you a new lead!

…After extensive research and feedback from people, I have determinded that Actorcast.com is a legit website that charges a minimal fee for superior services. ActorCast is a fee-based, professional agent and actors services site, but they NEVER charge for open casting call submissions. You do not need to pay any fees to submit for Leah and Seth Clearwater roles in Eclipse. However, you must submit for the Eclipse open call by going to www.eclipseopencasting.com, rather than by signing up at ActorCast first. You can read the details at the Eclipse Open Call FAQs.

I know many of you will not follow directions and read all the info there is to read. Do follow the links and read, but here are the basics.

    • The open call listed above is for Seth and Leah only.
    • You should be at least 14.
    • There is no age maximum, but you need to realistically be able to play the role.
    • You must be legal resident of the US or Canada.
    • Yes, you need to download your scene and learn your lines.
    • You will get an email when your submission has been received.
    • You will be notified by July 10, 2009 by the phone or email you provide if there are any more steps for you to take.
    • Acting experience is not required, nor is a resume, but if you have a resume do include it in your submission.

Break a leg!

24Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting 411 has this info on Headshots and Resumes!

Please follow that link. There are awesome examples of what your headshot and resumes should look.

Katie asked a good question (see below) about whether you have to be a US resident. The answer is, I don’t know, but I wouldn’t think so. As far as I can tell they are only casting the Quileute parts currently, specifically Leah and Seth. I wouldn’t think that accent would matter when casting Bree, or any of the other newborns if they cast them. I think what will be most important to casting directors is the look and the tone of voice, as stated in the description above (or on the Acting411 site). I AM NOT THE CASTING DIRECTOR though. Please don’t think anything I say here is gospel. I’m just running this page because I noticed a lot of people finding my site by searching for Auditions info. Keep checking back, and checking Acting411, for the deets.

20Jun09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting 411 has new info on casting!

I haven’t been around in a while. Here’s the most recent info on casting if you’re into this kind of thing.

Casting Directors are no longer accepting submissions for the roles of Seth Clearwater and Leah Clearwater as of July 1, 2009.

All submissions have been reviewed and Seth and Leah Clearwater callbacks are in process now. Please DO NOT contact the casting office. You will be contacted by email or phone if they need you for a callback.

Filming is slated to being August 17, 2009 and continue through October 31, 2009. The release date for Eclipse has been announced as Wednesday, June 30, 2010.

Roles Still Currently Being Cast By Aikins/Cossey:

(The role of Riley has been cast. They following main roles are STILL available)

05Aug09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting411 has this to say about Breaking Dawn!!!

Summit Entertainment has acquired the rights from Stephenie Meyer to film and distribute Breaking Dawn, the fourth novel in her series. Breaking Dawn is in the early pre-production stages. There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the novel due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating.

Somebody didn’t catch that the explicit part was all in their heads! LOL! Now for the really good stuff!

Sources say that Breaking Dawn will be filmed and released in a new trilogy – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I”, “Part II”, and “Part III”. This has not been confirmed officially by Summit, however author Stephenie Meyer has stated “it would have to be make into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.

David Slade is directing Eclipse, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. “Breaking Dawn: Part I” should start shooting in early 2010, with a release date scheduled for 2011.

Three more films?!?!? SQUEE!!!

15Aug09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting411 has this to say about casting for Eclipse!!!

Casting for Eclipse is now complete, except for the extras. Rehearsals started August 5th, and will last for two weeks. There will then be one week of fight training for the actors.

The role of Victoria has been re-cast. Bryce Dallas Howard will now play the role of Victoria.

Extras Casting:

Andrea Brown

Andrea Brown has given me the following information regarding the extras casting for The Twilight Saga films:

“I am using the resources of the local agencies to find any extras we may need. I can only hire folks who are living in and legal to work in Canada..”

Please go here for more info on Extras Casting.

05Dec09 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting-Auditions.org has this to say about Breaking Dawn!!!

Guess it’s been a while since I posted anything. Not much has changed. Well, apparently Acting411 is now Acting-Auditions.org, but everything else is pretty much business as usual. I still get comments on casting articles asking about Eclipse. As I am pretty sure filming has wrapped, I’m sorry but you missed your chance with Eclipse. Breaking Dawn hasn’t begun filming though. I’ll do my best to keep up from here on out.

…Free acting auditions and free casting information will be posted soon.

Inside sources confirm that Breaking Dawn will be filmed and released in two parts – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I”, and “Part II”. Although this has not been confirmed officially by Summit (they never actually officially confirm anything until the last second or after-the-fact), author Stephenie Meyer has stated “it would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes.”

David Slade is directing Eclipse, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. “Breaking Dawn: Part I” should start shooting in early 2010, which a release scheduled for 2011.

Please submit photos and resumes for acting auditions by mail only. No phone calls or personal drop-offs.

See the post titled Headshot and Resume Information regarding how to submit for acting roles.

19Feb10 THIS JUST IN!!! Acting-Auditions.org has this to say about Breaking Dawn I!!!

Yep, that’s right, Breaking Dawn I!

It’s official! “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” production has been greenlit and I now have the latest free auditions information. Breaking Dawn will be made into two films shot back-to-back starting October, 2010. The filming locations and exact dates for acting auditions have not been confirmed.

The Breaking Dawn’s director has yet to be officially announced, however sources say that Gus Van Sant has signed on. Van Sant’s directing schedule fits perfectly, as he will wrap filming on “Restless” (which is being produced by Bryce Dallas Howard and currently shooting in Portland until January 3rd, 2010) before Breaking Dawn I goes into production, and he is not set to film anything else until 2011 – after Breaking Dawn II would wrap production.

A new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for Breaking Dawn. Sunswept Entertainment was created by Karen Rosenfelt, who is the daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt. Karen Rosenfelt served as Producer on both “Twilight” and on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. She did not work on “New Moon”, but is producing “Breaking Dawn through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.

There will likely be massive acting auditions talent search for the role of Renesmee Cullen, the half-vampire, half-human daughter of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, just as there was through Actorcast for the roles of Seth and Leah Clearwater in “Eclipse”. Many other new roles are also to be cast, as there are a large number of additional vampire characters in Breaking Dawn.

See the post titled Photo and Resume Information regarding how to submit for free acting auditions.

Submit photos and resumes by mail only.

No phone calls or personal drop offs.

Principle Actor Casting (Los Angeles, CA)

Do NOT send photos and resumes to the production companies (they will most likely end up in the trash can), they do not cast the films. They hire casting directors who sort through the thousands of submissions.

    • I would think not, but maybe someone who has been on auditions can give you a better idea of what to expect.

For you I’m adding some links on auditions etiquette to my post above.

      Comment by '86 Rabbit | June 22, 2009 | Reply

      • Hey there!
I have been on many an audition, and no the director will not expect you to have your hair in pigtails when you come in. It is, however, a better idea to have a headshot made that is representative of you ALL THE TIME so you don’t have to worry about what your hair is doing. My headshots are typically hair down or partially down, so the casting directors get a good idea of what my hair type is. Then if I’m called in, I wear my hair in way that is suitable (but not stereotypical) of the character. It’s a bad idea to stereotype yourself to the character you want; they may find you very inappropriate for the role you want but if you’re not too…closed minded I guess? in dress, makeup, etc., then they may see you as perfect for a different role.
        I hope that helps!

BTW: ’86 Rabbit, I cannot thank you enough for posting these links and keeping up with all of this!

  9. Hello, my name is Leah.
And right now, my family is having trouble with money, but I want to act, I love being on stage, although I’m only 13(will turn 14 July 27, and people say I look 15 or 16) its one of my greater passions.

Also the reason I want to be cast in twilight saga: breaking dawn, is because I’m IN LOVE with the books, because of them I read mainly books with vampires and I have an obsession with anything related to twilight (:.

Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me find a FREE, or cheap, way to be cast in any upcoming shows or movies(even if its not in the twilight saga).

Thankyou, please email me and help me in anyway, even if the answer is no.

    • I don’t think that accent would matter but I’m not a casting director, so I don’t know. I know you have to be a US or Canadian resident to play a Quileute, but I haven’t seen anything about that with the Newborn Army. By description it seems that looks and voice matter with Bree.

    • I have no idea which way they would go with Renesmee. She’s a little girl that appears to be about 5 even though she’s much younger, but she’s wicked smart so seems older than the looks. My guess is that they would have someone say 7-8 play her.

I’m 11 and I’m 5’0″.I have dark brown and medium length hair .but i could possibly pass for 13 or 14.I’ve had a passion for acting sense I was about 5. I’ve played in many Church plays and 1 Croswell Opera House production.I’m not sure if my Mother and Father would let me play a part because of all the traveling expenses.I was wondering what website or e-mail address to send our photo’s and resumes to.
    Love.

  45. Hi I’m 12 and will probably be about 14 when Breaking Dawn is on. I’m tan and Asian with Glasses and would like to play Benjamin from Breaking Dawn. Will being Asian and well wearing glasses (But I can get contacts) affect my chances of getting the role. Will also being in Australia affect but I do have a lot of experience in acting because I have represented Victoria in acting b4. Please reply to me asap, I have a lot of experience and I can get an agent and a resume. I just need to know if being in Australia and being Asian will affect my chances

  46. Whoops! I just left this as a reply to someone else’s comment. :/ I couldn’t find a button to delete it so I guess I’ll just repost it.

Hello, I’m interested in auditioning for a role as an extra in the Breaking Dawn film (seeing as I have absolutely no experience in acting). I was slightly confused by the link you provided. We can’t start sending in photos / resumes until they provide us with a casting director’s info, correct? Also, what does it mean when it has the abbreviation for a state next to the certain casting director’s title.

    For example:

    Background Extras Casting (OR)

Does it matter that I live in Chicago? Can I still send in a photo or do I have to live in Oregon?

    Comment by Vanessa | December 17, 2009 | Reply

    • OR means that’s where they are filming and are looking for extras. Generally speaking, if you’re willing to travel and pay to put yourself up in a hotel or stay with friends, background casting directors don’t care where you live as long as you can legally work in the US. To make it more likely for you to be cast, however; you may want to take up a PO Box in Oregon or find a friend there who will let you use their address. Locals are often picked first, since they’re more likely to not flake or change their mind about working.

  56. Hi,
I have been reading the twilight books and they are fab,and the films. I am just curious to know when or roughly when casting directors will be confirmed. I Think my daughter fits in with reneesme in the book(however they might change her a little in the film) she is only just 2 however in her speech(she can talk properly, not babyish)and actions she is older but still looks 2 and has the perfect hair colour to the books description and the way she acts seems very similar, i just want to give her a chance. can you help me and let me no when the casting directors are confirmed so i can send in her details. cheers laura

  63. “Summit Entertainment has put out a statement to let everyone know that all of the recent casting information and news surrounding Breaking Dawn is completely false. Acting-auditions.com (formerly acting411.blogspot.com) does not have accurate information concerning any of the Twilight Saga movies. Please be assured if we hear of any official information concerning the announcement of Breaking Dawn or any open casting, we will let you know right away.”

Is what is said via web link:
    http://twilightersanonymous.com/summit-entertainment-breaking-dawn-casting-information-is-false.html#

Which makes me wonder what is said is true. Now, I’m not pointing fingers because you have said several times that you post what you hear. And what is necessarily rumored. Not concrete. I am a local actor, I have an agent. And I know how these processes work (to some extent). They WILL NOT choose someone that is walking down the street. Or someones aunt or sister because they “look” the part. Though that does matter, there are thousands of Talent that “look” the part and have had On screen experience. It is done through a casting director working with that talent’s agent. Rarely do they ever have “open calls” for Principle roles. But yes they do have casting calls for extras (i.e. background). But even the high lighted extras normally have an agent. Whether its 15 secs on screen or a one liner. I do like your updates I have to admit. But you’re right, research is most the work. Thats why I get several opinions and check imdb.com and other sites. But this is just my two cents worth.
