A FANGirl's Forkstress of Solitude

Congrats, My Friends!

Congrats to my friends at LTT! I’m very excited for you!

And I also love you, the awesome Twilight (and maybe a few Hosts, too) fandom. I stalk your websites all the time—you guys are hilarious (I recently added LTT to my stalk list; thanks for the laugh lines, ladies). I’m looking forward to seeing some of you in November for a little movie release that I’m excited about. Too many months to go!

Love,
Steph

Steph, I’m so glad you found them. They really are hilarious, aren’t they?

Breaking Dawn Auditions

Have you been following Acting411? If you have you know some pretty interesting info by now.

Summit Entertainment has acquired the rights from Stephenie Meyer to film and distribute Breaking Dawn, the fourth novel in her series. Breaking Dawn is in the early pre-production stages. There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the novel due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating.

Somebody didn’t catch that the explicit part was all in their heads! LOL!

Now for the really good stuff! Check out my Auditions page and scroll down to the 05Aug09 entry.

We shall see…

Dear Bryce Dallas Howard,

Congrats on winning the role of Victoria in Eclipse! I would have picked you if I couldn’t have Rachelle Lefevre, too. Not that you’re second best. I have seen many of your films and think you’re incredible. I look forward to seeing what you do with the role.

Break a leg!  ♥Rabbit

Dear Rachelle,

They did WHAT?!? It’s just not right. With the crazy shooting schedule Summit adopted in their rush to get to the box office you would think they would be a little more clear about non-negotiable dates. It sounds like they are in breach of contract to me. As they were clearly allowing you lot to film in the, what, two months you had off between shoots, they should have advised you of any blackout dates they were not willing to work around. I’m just sayin’. You should get your part back. There are petitions in the works as we speak. I hope lawyers and agents are as busy as the fans.

With hopes you are as tenacious as Victoria and Michelle “Bridezilla” Morgan, ♥Rabbit

Dear Summit,

Are you serious? Do you understand fandom at all? Do you understand that after that hot mess we call Twilight the fans will brook no more crap? Do you understand that the flip side of SQUEE is an angry mob with pitch forks and torches? Don’t for a minute think that you can assume breaking even on this movie. Oh, you’ll have a great opening weekend, but if we can spread the word and get Peter Facinelli a gajillion Twitter friends under a deadline we can certainly arrange seeing your little film once or twice in said weekend and then never again. We know someone will bootleg it and it will be available on the internet within days. We don’t have to pay you. I personally am against bootlegging, but you and I both know that the crappier the movie seems to be or the angrier the audience is, the likelier bootlegging will be. Add to that rabid fandom and you have a bootlegging nightmare on your hands. I beg of you, reconsider. Nobody wins without Rachelle playing Victoria no matter how wonderful Bryce Dallas Howard may be. We love our continuity and we love Rachelle. Besides, 10 days? Really? That just seems petty.

Seriously! ♥Rabbit

Thoughts on the Eve of Comic-Con 2009

Dear New Moon,

Are you worried that you won’t be given the same attention Twilight was given at Comic-Con? I am. Sure, I felt I had already seen Twilight by the time I saw Twilight, with all the video that was posted on YouTube, but spoilers aside, it was fun feeling like I was part of the process. New Moon, you are my favorite of the Twilight Saga. It’s so unfair that they have kept us apart the way they have these many months, being stingy with their news, withholding video from the set, and in general being all closed off and selfish. There are even fewer and fewer blurbs about you in Entertainment Weekly (I bought a subscription just for you) and the folks over there are whores for all things Twilight. I can only hope that at this week’s Comic-Con there will be some great videos of you posted online, especially of the panel, with which I can SQUEE vicariously. I won’t be there again this year, so vicariously is all I have.
Counting the days until we’re together,
Rabbit

The New Moon Trailer

I went to see The Proposal with OMB and a bunch of friends. I’m so glad the girls were with me! None of us knew the New Moon trailer was playing before the movie! Talk about involuntary SQUEE! All we needed to see was the water and the rocks. There was a collective gasp at shirtless Jacob the likes of which I haven’t heard since we first saw Cedric Diggory jump out of that tree in Goblet of Fire. The theater was packed, and just about everyone seemed excited. Even one of the guys with us said, “Whoa! What happened to him?” I kept reminding the girls, “He’s only 17. He’s only 17…” I mean clearly I didn’t need reminding, being firmly on Team Edward. Don’t worry. I let everyone know that if they didn’t calm down that Chris Hansen would be showing up. That being said, can I just say how hilarious I think it is that you hear Laurent say, “mouthwatering,” and then the next thing you see is shirtless Jacob. What a clever subliminal message. I’m just sayin’!

The preview looked even better on the big screen, especially the fur-sploding wolf. I do hope that Edward doesn’t stop at, “This is the last time you will ever see me,” and actually does say, “It will be as if I never existed,” like he’s supposed to.  But all in all New Moon looks like it may be good, definitely better than Twilight.

We were all ready to go after the preview, but were pleasantly surprised that for the price of $9.50 they were actually going to let us see a movie, too. The Proposal was a lot of fun. We expected it to be good, but it was a lot funnier than any of us expected. It’s one of those movies that when I’m flipping through the channels I know I will have to stop and watch.

A Blog Roll Please: Twitarded

Previously, on A Blog Roll Please, I spread the love for some great Twilight blogs that may have gotten lost on my ever-growing Blog Roll. This edition is no different. Today I’d like to introduce you to Twitarded, if you don’t know them already.

When I first found Twitarded, I could not figure out why I couldn’t post on non-Wordpress blogs. It was a huge frustration because I wanted to tell them how completely brills they are. I saved them to my Blog Roll, so I could post on their blog when I got my crap together. I’m glad I did. Their blog is witty, snarky (of course!), and self-deprecating. It’s full of news, photos, gossip, and good ol’ FANGirl SQUEE. It was STY’s name that drew me to the site, as I am sometimes known as Snarky myself. It was their header that kept me reading:

We are two over-thirty chicks who never really meant to fall in love with Twilight… but somehow we did. Hard. Inexplicably, we’ve got a lot to say on the subject. Consider this half blissfully obsessed, and half trying to exorcise our Twilight demons and get over it, already.

Girls after my own decrepit heart. Twitarded has grown. They have quite  a few more followers than back in the day when it was just witty banter between Jenny Jerkface (JJ) and Snarkier Than You (STY). I’m sure they would still love for you to drop by and leave them a comment.

Random Rob

Thanks, simple265, for putting this interview up on YouTube.  I had fun watching it watching Hayley Williams and Rob Pattinson interview each other.

Thanks, doseca1, for putting this Rob interview on YouTube. This might be the best interview I’ve seen with Rob talking about playing Edward. Rob, I love that you want the New Moon movie to be so true to the book that you hope you aren’t in the bulk of the movie, but I disagree about the ‘vignettes’. I think that showing a tortured Edward here and there could work, if written the right way. For example, cutting back and forth between Edward going to the Volturi and Alice and Bella racing to Italy could add some tension that might otherwise be difficult to portray with just two girls rushing to catch a flight and then sitting there for nine hours.

Thanks, B96 Showbiz Shelly, for posting this interview of Rob in Chicago while on the Twilight tour on YouTube. It’s always fun to watch him squirm while talking about the SQUEEing Fangirls.

Ok, so this isn’t a Rob interview, it’s a Dakota interview, but she does talk about Rob. And how cute is she?!? Thanks, xlovesit91x, for posting this on YouTube.

Twilight: Not Just For Tweens

**Moved from original blog**
Twilight: Not Just For Tweens
Merry Christmas, Twilighters! Here’s a little something for you. As you know Ms. Meyer doesn’t agree with the label Young Adult Fiction or Teen Fiction. Neither do I. I agree with her that a good story is a good story, and should be enjoyed by anyone. I’ll go a step further and explain why these specific books should not be considered Tween books. I’ll grant you that the majority of the fans seem to be screaming tweens and young teens, but have you ever talked to any of them about the books? I have.

Recently I got a 13-year-old family member to join my coven. She read Twilight obsessively, but is plodding through New Moon. She’s mad at Edward for leaving. She hates Jacob for putting the moves on Bella. She’s bored with the rebuilding of motorcycles. She carries the book around with her but is too bummed to read it. I told her that life is never going to get any better for her or Bella unless she reads through the rough times. I’ve even marked the page where Alice comes back, but she still can’t make herself move on.

I SQUEED my pants!

On the subject of the Academy Awards…

I watched the red carpet. I watched the whole show. And I commandeered OMB’s TV to do it. He was a good sport until Rob showed up and I involuntarily SQUEED my pants. He made a snarky comment about shaving for the Oscars. I replied that Rob did shave, which earned a very confused look from OMB. Then he said something about Rob over-acting! I was so stunned that I don’t remember how or why he said it. What was his problem? Being #2 next to a guy I’ll probably* never meet is practically like being #1. It can’t be jealousy, can it?

*I’m still waiting for an interview/audition for my application to be his Kept Woman.
